Can My Computer Handle The Newer Games?

Well I mainly want to play Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and alot of the new ones. If someone could help me. Even by telling me what to upgrade to. I'd be grateful.

Your video card and memory.

You definately need a new video card, and i suggest spending a few hundred if you've got it around. I'd say to get most higher end video cards, you'd also need to upgrade your power supply from 300w, to probably 450w, or even 500W, depending on the card you choose. From what i found, your machine has an AGP8X slot, which kind of limits your upgradability, seeing as all top-end video cards are PCIE-16X.

Yes, expensive, but the game is definately system intensive.

512MB of memory will run Oblivion, but the load times will be awful. I'd suggest 1GB as a minimum.

It may be easier for you to get an XBOX 360 if you really want to play it.

I think goki is right, you may be better off buying an Xbox 360 unless you have other reasons to build a whole new pc which will cost you more than an Xbox 360. My system seems capable of running Oblivion if I were to upgrade my card, which I plan to do so.

Thanks guys. But I wanted to update my new computer. Since I found out Wal-Mart, and E-Machine cheated me out of a 512 MB Ram. I found out that I got 384 MB's installed. Which sucks cause they had ads of this computer. I called them, and they said I could get my money back. Now the manager is checking all the systems to see if they all have that. All I wanted was a 512 to play alot of my games.

Now I'm thinking of giving this computer of mine. All the upgrades it needs to make it play all the games thats current, and future. Price isn't a issue

I'm not sure how you are checking to see how much memory you have. But maybe you still have 512 MB of RAM. Remember that your 128MB of video memory is shared amongst the system's physical memory. So you don't actually have any dedicated memory specifically for video rendering. And if 128MB of memory is taken out of the 512MB, then you are left with 384MB of RAM. I don't know of any premade computers that come with less than 512MB nowadays.

Grasshopper is spot on, integrated video generally steals some system memory. If price isn't an issue, stay the hell away from things like eMachine. It's best to have a custom built PC.
