The warp type must not be set to "cave/item room" or it takes you to screen 80 (cave). I use "scrolling warp".

You "down a screen" problem suggests you are using the wrong warp.
Tile warp = when you enter a cave/dungeon entrance
Side warp = when you walk off the side of the screen

I'm having a similar problem. When I try to test my quest, if I enter a cave, I go to screen 80 of my current map (the cave entrance was set to "Entrance/Exit"), which is NOT a cave. If I enter the stairs there, I enter the cave at the start of my map, but Link doesn't appear!

    Re: dungeons.

Layers: you can make things like tops of trees, roofs of houses so that link appears under them or overhead layers that link and all flying enemies appear under. Also you can make multilayered floors. See the tutorials for details. The 2.10test quest illustrates th principle of layers quite well, the dungeon rooms being made up of 2 floor layers and the overworld has overhead layers on some screens.

pikaguy: you did set tile warp, not side warp? (this problem has happened before). The 'link doesn't appear' problem is often the green/blue warp squares not being set.

    Re: dungeons.

Wait, I need those green-and-blue squares for tile warp? I use the Cave (walk dow) tile for my caves...

No, in the screen that you're supposed to appear in the squares mark the spot at which you appear, in dungeons it is usually right at the edge of the screen where you walk in.

    Re: dungeons.

Oh, I thought you were talking about the tile that has blue-and-green lines. It kinda looks like a warp panel to me, and the combo for it says "Stairs". But now I know what you're talking about. I put those on each of the screens that have caves/dungeons, but I'm VERY confused about the ZQuest editor... Now, how do I play a quest that I downloaded from this site? I just downloaded one, but I don't know how to play it, because the quest has to be in ZQuest for me to play it... When I downloaded it, the files were put in a zipped folder...
