The ZC forum needs a "frequent suggestions" sticky.

I hope I'm not out of line, here, but this is a glaring issue. I've posted this topic here in hopes of getting some competent discussion, without all the usual static that would serve to brush it under the rug.

Now, I don't moderate the Zelda Classic forums, but I have noticed an annoying trend:

Everyone keeps suggesting the same stupid things. When was the last time we went for more than a month without somebody saying "hay u know what wuld be kewl, make ZC like LttP!@%!! And have Roc's feather!#!%"?
Maybe this wouldn't be such a problem if everyone read the "future plans" sticky. Of course, for that to happen, it has to overcome the fact that it's embarassingly out of date.

I think it's time we make a brand new sticky topic, maintained by testers and ZC Devs, to address these frequently-suggested suggestions. Don't just say "this is planned" or "this can't happen". Explain why. We should give people an easy-to-find, valid reason to stop beating the same horses over and over again.
And then, even if all the little newbies totally ignore it (like most other ZC-related stickies), we can at least dismiss their redundant babbling and slap them with a referral to the sticky thread, right before closing the topic.

Right now, we only have 3 ZC forum mods. We need to nominate a 4th.

... I kinda wonder if there's a "Mass Usergroup Moderation" ability in vBulletin. > >. That would be handy. ... ... Sort of overkill though. Our current mods do a great job, IMHO. Or at least from what I've seen.

Much to that effect, (Again, IMHO.) having a "Copy And Paste" message that goes along with what you're saying would be nice, like some sort of Multi-Moderation tool. Same for double posts and duplicate topics. I'm just saying. :p

EDIT: Quoted From LTM's post below.
Of course, there's one big problem with this... most newbies that would think that their suggestions were the first time ever mentioned are the newbies that don't pay attention to stickied threads like that.
Precisely why we'd need copy and paste threads. We would be shelling them out fairly quickly. Wouldn't it just be nice? :p

But yes, I agree. It would be very, very nice to have a full list of features like that. Well thought out. :) If I can help in any way with that, please call me. :) ... Or I'll see it and respond, .. you know. :p

EDIT: Oh, Ganonator posted at the same time as I did.

I've always wanted to say this. I frequently see *b* and/or Freedom giving people ZC Help. They've always been there for people. Rakki also seems to do a wonderful job of it. I'm so happy that they're there. ^_^ Heck, *b* (Gashin) is a ZC Mod at PureZC as well. I'd definitely consider him for the position. :)

Yeah, the sticky is out of date. I should know, I stickied it!

You know, with the release of a new beta, I feel an incredible surge in using ZC again, like to finish old quests and stuff. Perhaps, just maybe, I could re-fill my old ZC mod position. For one thing I am a lot more mature now that I used to be. When I started up as a mod, every newbie was suddenly an IP ban evader, but now that I know that talking in annoying newbie tones is just how people act, I won't be clogging up the staff forum with useless posts. My only thing is that I know that some people arn't too fond of me, especially since I was with ZCN for a while. Convincing them that somebody like me is mature enough to be a moderator would be an enduring task.
The name might be missleading, I'm not jigglypuff.

Heh. What a coincidence, I was actually thinking about the same at PureZC earlier, with a frequent suggestion sticky, even though PZC isn't the official ZC forum.

Of course, there's one big problem with this... most newbies that would think that their suggestions were the first time ever mentioned are the newbies that don't pay attention to stickied threads like that.

Re: The ZC forum needs a "frequent suggestions" sticky.

In terms of what we could do for the ZC Suggestions forum, perhaps we could have a "ratings" system, where the members can rate the suggestion based on how useful it would really be. It might be enough to show newcomers what the "Best" kinds of suggestions are, based on their ratings. The more ratings a suggestion gets, the more ratings people would be inclined to have their own suggestions get as well, by thinking along the same lines of what the higher rated suggestions were. This is dedicated to those n00bs, of course. It's an interesting idea at least. Useful at best. Easily discarded either way.

Color coding the initial thread in question similar to how it was done with the bugs thread would be a fine way of going about it. Again, if you need help, I can help craft the phrasing. I've been told that I'm good with n00bs and newcomers alike in guiding them.

In the past I have thought about who would be a good ZC forum mod, and the main person that I've thought of was Britannianhero4. He's helpfull, he's active, he does a good job at being a mod over at PureZC.

"Freedom" only makes beta bug reports, he stopped posting in all the other threads when he shared his opinion without breaking any rules and was then banned by ganonator who also at the time threatened to bend him over and ass rape him.
I learned that sharing unfavorable opinions was a no no but threatening to ass rape was ok, that kind of moderating team I want no part of.
but... that's for your vote anyway BH4.
