    Zelda Classic Rewrite

Sorry if this has been put somewhere, but I have been reading the forums over here and havn't found anyhing on it so...

I was reading along one of the threads and saw someone say something not happening until the 'rewrite' was done.

i was just wondering if ZC is currenty being rewritten...

If so, what are going to be the results of this rewrite and such?

Currently, a new API language design is being considered. Nothing is finalized, as the project is still being worked on.

Unless you see it posted by Fatcatfan or Dark Nation, anything anyone says about Zelda Classic's development is likely meaningless. They are currently the only developers for it. And personally I don't see why you'd change ZC to use some API (do you really know what that means?). I mean, porting ZC to Direct X or something would certainly destroy the point of the Mac and Linux ports. Maybe you might port it to SDL but ya... I don't see the point there either. I'd be interested in what feature you were told would require a rewrite.

    Re: Zelda Classic Rewrite

Mott, does it bother you to think maybe somebody knows more about something, or is more important than you on a project?

I never worked on ZC. You will not see any of my code in any of the .cc files. (yes, .cc). I simply participated in the talks involving SDL over Allegro. This happened almost 4 months ago, and no progress was kept.

And no, I don't know what an Application Programming Interface is. Project Seven is just a text based adventure, but when you take the right mixture of drugs, turns into 3D. In fact, there isn't any network code in that game either. We're just going to call all of our friends over and play it on the same box, cause I'm obviously too stupid to make anything work.

If only i knew what a box was.

Sorry, but I couldn't care less what the fuck you people are doing. This is supposed to just be a hobby. Furthermore, why before you just posted what you said should anyone have believed you? You'renot a developer on the project. You're just some moderator at AGN. That doesn't mean you know anything. No offense. You know it's no anyone's fault for acting on the knowledge they possess. No one knows everything you know. So don't get all bitchy with me.

Actually Ganonator is a developer, and did have some input on ZC temporarily. Mottzilla is also very knowledgeable in this area. You two shake hands and go back to your corners.
