Daniel Robert Eckels was born today, May 17th, 2005 at around 4:10pm.
He arrived about three weeks early of his due date of June 10th. He weighs in at 5lbs, 4oz. His poor mother was in labor for about 14 hours, 6 hours of intensely painful contractions, but in the end only about a half hour of pushing. It was a natural childbirth, without the use of demerol, or an epidermal. (not so much a choice, as a fear of needles, which I too share).
He's an absolutely beautiful baby. I have nothing else to say but that this is a great day of my life.
