    Help. =p

This is not necessarily a bug related to ZC or a Zquest problem, this is more so how my computer is relating to Zeldaclassic, so I posted it here.

What would cause Zeldaclassic and it's midis to run very slowly on my computer?

It's very quite capable of handling Zeldaclassic, and another computer with the exact same built can handle it well.

The computer has no known virus or any problem with a virus, and I've been having this problem with Zeldaclassic for over a year.

It's getting very annoying to play the game in slow motion, especially when I'm trying to test the game I'm making and work out the bugs.

    Any idea?

RAM would be my first guess (too many things running), not knowing your environment or which version you're using.

Enabling/disabling VSYNC would be another possibility, among other things.

    Need more system info.

Oh, I have over 380mb of RAM with only Zeldaclassic is running. Also, when the vsync is turned on, it moves at Super Speed, when turned off, it goes right slow again. >.>

Did you try to defrag your hard drive? That probably would help.

When I click on video mode under etc, it says this.

    Video Mode:
    DirectX Hardware Accelerated
    320 x240 8-bit

Could this affect my gameplay if I'm playing full screen with a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. =o

    Re: Help. =p

i would like to say that after buying a new soundcard for my computer (soundblaster 24bit)
i discovered that my pci slots were the wrong version and that this was why i was experiencing my slow music. also it affected overall performance meaning zsnes ran on average about 42fps instead of a solid 60fps i tested with other programs and after a week i returned the soundcard to the store.

    my current system is

    -p3 600mhz
    -512mb sdram pc133 ram
    -128mb g-forceMX 4000 (latest non beta drivers)
    -80 gig hard-drive
    -52X cd-burner
-vibra 128 4-channel soundcard OEM (latest beta drivers provided on install disk as others don't work correctly)
    -and windows ME

and in answer to your question about the video resolution i don't think it would affect music speed.

also fyi VSYNC is broken in ZC_2.10w

I think this has more to do with 2.10 than anything else. Your computer should be able to run it, it's just that it's using a version of Allegro that is somehow WAY less tolerant about really obscure things than the one ZC has used in the past. It's a needle-in-a-haystack situation and you might as well wait until the next version before trying to solve it.

The aplhas are private releases only available to ZC Beta testers. :)
