    Unverified Bug Running Program Help

Hi, I have just installed the program, and when I try to open it it opens up a window entitled: 16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem and then says "C:\Programs\ZELDAC~1.90S\ZQUEST~1.PIF
C"\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application."

I am running Windows XP, and I don't know how to fix this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

apoceclipse, 1) What version did you download? Did you download from http://www.zeldaclassic.com ? 2) ZC Won't run on XP If you arn't the system administrator. Make sure you are system Admin before trying to run ZC or ZQuest.

    Re: Running Program Help

I just realized this and was curious if it would have anything to do with that particular version being 16-bit, since XP is 32 bit...not a suggestion just a question.

    Re: Running Program Help

I am the system admin, and I downloaded the program from this website. The problem seems to happen every time I try to run MS-DOS based programs, that error screen comes up. Could it have something to do with my C\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT file? I will try downloading again, though, and see what happens.

    Re: Running Program Help

Okay, I unistalled, redownloaded and reinstalled Version 1.90, but it didn't work again, same error. I noticed on the downloads page that there I was downloading a DOS version, and the latest Windows version was only 1.00, which I am not sure I should get because it is outdated. I will try downloading one of the latest betas, they could work on Windows maybe. Any help again would be appreciated, thanks.

    Re: Running Program Help

1.90 doesn't work with xp because xp doesn't support DOS.
    download the 192-183 beta.

once downloaded first open zquest-w.exe and click on etc at the top and play a midi so it will write you an ag.cfg file, then close zquest and open zelda-w.exe and play your game.
Make sure you also download ALL of the suppost files that go with it

once you are done downloading and unzipping your folder should have these....
