Um, if you are playing the game on a real NES you need a Game Genie cartridge which goes between your LoZ cart and your NES. If you are emulating it, you must consult your emulator's documentation on if it supports game genie patches, and if so how to apply them. If you are talking about Zelda Classic, cheats are available in some quests only if you have the correct cheat password.
Yeah, just like Mottzilla said, you'll need a Game Genie cartridge. You can probably find one on Ebay, or maybe in a used video game store.
