MP3s are already compressed. If you zipped them, your player would likely not read them. If you really wanted, you could find a converter somewhere and downgrade their quality, say to 56 kbps. It would sound terrible though.

Yes, Starkist is right.. but that would also depend on the type of earphones/headphones you have.. If your earphones/headphones are average to begin with.. lowering the quality wouldnt make much of a difference...
Well, is it Ogg Vorbis compatible? Ogg can compress music much more efficiently.
