Well I didn't see this coming... okay, maybe I did, but I expected something on the Gamecube first...

This is some pretty old news... Well, actually, I take that back. GTA-for-GBA was basically a rumor for quite some time. Many message boards have argued over it. Now they'll be arguing whether it's 2D or 3D.

Hopefully 2d. 3d on the GBA doesn't seem to work very well. You have to have really low-res models, so it doesn't look good.
I just hope they don't return to the top-down perspective of old.

I bet it will be top-down as in the old ones. But, hey, they were pretty fun too. Now that GTA3 and GTAvc have been released, I miss getting to take out whole rows of cultists to earn the big bucks. :)
then, like Cloral said, you're gonna have shitty res'd down models that look like blobs of garbage...Originally posted by Pablo

case in point? almost any fighting game for gba (except the KoF series, which is good, even though its GBA, imo), and almost any racing game (talk about horrible)...
even if it is top-down, it will still look garbled... can you imagine that on the GBA's small screen? (not bashing, i have a GBA)
edit: gdorf, you can download the full version GTA (the original) off of CNET's download.com... not sure if anyone else knew that or not :)
What about an angled perspective, similar to that of the GBA Spyro games (check this screenshot: http://www.gamespot.com/gba/action/s...s.html?page=34)?
I'm not sure how well it would work for Grand Theft Auto, but it might be more attractive then standard Zelda style overhead.
