remember that this is a clone of the original zelda.. yes, there are lots of new things and items and abilities, but the gameplay is still the same, and the old items haven't been changed at all.

I'm not sure a new-style whistle will ever make it into ZC. It would require a lot of work to basically change the entire nature of the whistle, and set up the song routines, including the sounds for the notes.
