Layers do not turn off via enemy-secret flag

I have an event where you talk to someone, and they dissappear after, but I can't get the layer 2 to turn off as well. It seems as if secrets are not affected on layers now. I hope this gets fixed.

It's an event. Basically, I made a NPC character you walk up to to start a cutscene. You get a key, that triggers the event that makes the guy go away after you talk to him. Normally, both the layer tile and bottom tile would disappear, but when I tried it, it didn't work. It could be a problem left over from 178, so I might check later. I do know that the secret is triggered as I can't talk to the guy anymore.
