Which version of ZC are you using? DOS or Windows?

Im having the exact same problem. Except im running a XP, i got the 2 files... no luck...
Look at the allegro.log file in the Zelda Classic directory and tell us what it says.
Make sure you have the support archive and the allegro40.dll in your Zelda Classic folder and not just the 2 files
