Make'm! With Orion's LttP people or Warlock's ZC sprite sheet as a start, you should have little trouble making TONS of custom peeps.
A course, since you have DoY, you could always screen shot and rip dudes from there too.

I use mostly monsers myself =) but yeah open some graphics packs at AZC and you'll find lot's of stuff.
