Its a Nintendo game, and Nintendo is really crappy about releasing games from genre's that aren't too commonly embraced in the US. Looking back, I'm amazed Nintendo went ahead and spent the large amounts of money to localize Earthbound... which is why it pisses me off when people badmouthed Earthbound because of its uniqueness... they were one confirmation to Nintendo as to why things like Earthbound should stay in Japan.

This is likely what happened to the Fire Emblem series, despite NPs attempts to run features on it... Nintendo probably just didn't want to risk their money on FE when they had surefire games in store for the US like the god awful DKC series... DAMN THAT DKC!!! ARGH!!! WAS I THE ONLY ONE WHO COULD SEE THROUGH DKC'S VEIL OF PRERENDERED GRAPHICS AND FIND THAT IN ITSELF, IT IS BUT MERELY A COMMON PLATFORMER!?!? AND 2 SEQUELS!?!?!?
