Roms - no not legality, but similar

Since WL has allowed people to upload roms to the AGN ftp server, can we freely talk about them and give links and stuff?

I think the only reason Warlord is allowing Porn and ROMs on his server is becuase his server is running off his own computer with is cable connection and all the files go on his hard drive. Linking to ROMs would still not be allowed.
You've always been allowed to talk about them though, just not to give out links because that would be helping to distribute ROMs and AGN doesn't need that with Zelda Classic.

Doesn't matter what you do with the URL, Axel. A moderator is going to find that, edit it out, and then either be confident with their discretion, or go to the admins for further deliberation, who will all likely agree with the mods decision.

Another thing to take weight away from your little loophole, is the fact I easily got a URL out of that and just downloaded a rom because of it(Final Fantasy IV with J2E's translation, as a matter of fact).

You could have been joking of course, but I don't think the staff is going to be laughing too much at it.

whatif they emailed him instead of openly posting or pming him? they wouldnt be posting the link to everyone though the person could just turn around and give it to someone else.....

Yes, of couse, because that would be done in private. The staff at AGN can't read through other people's e-mails, and can't stop people from e-mailing each other (because that's impossible to do).

If you were to say, you got some rom from like, plasticman's emulation zone, that's fine, so long as you don't link them or give an address.

side note - this wasnt directed at anyone specific, nor all of you in general, no flames or disrespect was meant. this is just how i feel abou this... let the rom legality crap die.

to put it simple, as its been said 10,000 times:

1. rom links are bad!

2. rom requests are bad!

3. asking for roms when you can find them by yourself is bad!

4. roms are bad! but who the f*ck cares? i have ~ 250mb worth, so i dont!
