    Idea for a tileset...

Now, I know I don't do much in terms of Zelda Classic, but I just had an idea for a tilesset.

What if...you could create a tileset that looked like it was ripped straight out of a black and white Japanese Manga? Perhaps with sketch marks and everything...and instead of using tons of shades of greys just have a black, white, grey and then use 'dot shading' (also known as 'stipeling') to simulate the rest.

    Just tossin' around an idea.

I like the monochrome idea, and even straight black and white. I see a problem with the dot shading though...with 16x16 pixels I don't think it would be possible to use this kind of shading to produce anything recognizable. But working with black, white, and gray you could have 14 shades of gray in a cset! Or for an old-fashioned flavor make it shades of brown.

Another thing I think would be cool is just a small amount of color here and there. You know the commercials that are black/white with a tiny bit of pale red for accent?
