[Fun with the Item Editor] Building an Iron Chain

Since Twilight Princess many users have requested scripts to simulate an Iron Chain tool like the one in the game.

For good reason, because the thing was awesome.



Do not underestimate the power of the item editor, though! The Cane of Byrna can be altered to make a very effective iron chain. Here are my settings for it:

Power 1
Speed Divisor 8
Orbit Radius 16
Number of Beams 1
Penetrates Enemies
Equipment Item
Magic Cost 0
Damaging and Non Damaging Sparkle identical: two frames with speed of 7

Higher levels of the item add more beams.

As for the graphics, use a boulder for the beam sprite, a hookshot handle for the handle sprite, and something similar to an arrow sparkle for the chain sprite. It'll look like the chain is blurring from the centripetal force.


Does anybody else have fun ideas for the item editor?

all of my good ideas so far have involved the enemy editor, but this is a pretty nifty trick. I'd love to find an effective way to simulate a stretching and penetrating laser like that of the Gradius series.

I'd like to see the Gust Jar from MC. I'm not sure which item class you'd use for it though.
