To be honest, I think it is probably more scripting... as you've dropped hints before that other things might be scripted.
Speaking of all of this... don't get too carried away. I'd like to see a full 2.11 with fixed bugs before ZC completely changes, as would other people. :shrug:

An enemy editor would be nice, especially if it's as liquid and movable as the subscreen editor is.
But I know better than to get excited about these things, and I'm betting it's another code feature.
Whatever it turns out to be, I'm sure it'll be mind-splitting.

This "changing" thing isn't going to be anything other than what we suggested to add long ago, most likely, it will be the tiles that play sound effects when touched.

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if a complete rebuild was in order. I remember them saying one or two years ago that a complete and total reconstruction of ZC was in order, that it'd be recoded from the ground up, which would make pretty much anything easier.

...Seriously guys, do you know how many months, if not more than a year or two, it would take for a TOTAL rewrite which included all of the functions we currently have? I highly doubt, even with the number of active devs there are now, that they've done so in the past two weeks. Remember that beta 12 was just released mid-way through this month.
If anything radical, I'm guessing this'll either be the new text engine (which would allow for text boxes as well), or the enemy editor (more likely, since hints were dropped about it in the beta 12 thread).
Both Enemy and Item editors can't be that far from reach. FFC Scripting has laid the ground work for both already. What is an enemy but an internalized FFC? What is a item but an internalized trigger for a FFC?
I'm guessing it's something that is a significant change to the developers, but to us peons, we won't even see it
