Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
Here it is, the official thread for voting for this month's gemstone quest. So what quest will win? Will it be:
Remember, there is currently no way to make this poll private. Some of us like to keep things like this a surprise. Don't directly discuss or disclose what quest is in the lead.
The quests are in the various ZC versions:
1.92.183 (James Quest, Links Birthday, Molka)
1.90 (AlphaDawg's Unofficial Third Quest) and
1.92b163 (Hero of Time).
Be sure to follow all normal Armageddon Games forum rules as well as the Gemstone rules.
Have fun!

Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
Doesn't seem like many people are very excited about it...
-
Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
I didn't think it needed to be.
SotW is the "active" contest, always thought Gemstone was a bit more subdued, a bit more...formal, like "This is this months selected quest. Enjoy!"
-
Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
Wow, five votes. I get the feeling SotW will be a much more active forum than Gemstone will be.
-
Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
I voted Link's Birthday. I had alot of fun, considering it was my very first quest I ever played to the end.
-
Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
We still have time, let's shoot for ten voters!
-
Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
Link's Birthday, of course.
-
Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
Come on, three more voters!
-
Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
I already voted a few days ago. James quest pwns Link's birthday. Not enough pew pew.
-
Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
Come on, we need one more voter to meat our goal!
-
Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
Yes! 11 voters! Maybe we can just make 15!

Hey, I'm just happy that we reached our goal. So, when do we stop the voting and write a review of the game?
-
Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
Monday. For consistency with SotW, Monday's the day everything revolves around. First Monday of the month, nominations. Next Monday, voting. Third Monday, review, summary, etc. I was thinking we could switch every month, between one of us doing the voting and nominating, and another doing the review. This month's your turn for the review.
-
Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
You know, maybe the review should come on the last Monday of the month, since it's kind of hard to beat the whole game and write a review all in one week.
-
Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
Hmmm... That does sound better. Plus it gives us more of a break between weeks. I'll add this all into the rules.
-
Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
And I'll start playing Link's Birthday, since it looks like that one's going to win. Ah, back to the good old original Pure tileset. I needed a break from DoR and PTUX. Now I have one.

Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah! No discussing what's in the lead!;)

Too late, I already did and I'm already through level 1. This is going to be a fun review.

Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
I was saying not to disclose what quest in in the lead on the poll. I'm not against you going ahead and playing the quest.

At this time, I think that almost everyone who will be interested has already voted. And even if they hadn't, that one that's winning is winning by so much it will be hard for a different one to pass it by.

Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
Whoops! Forgot the forum automatically showed you the results once you voted! My previous statements are void. On another note, with 2 more voters, we'll actually reach 15. Of course, I'm happy with just 13.

Oo, now we're at fourteen. One more and we will ahve reached our goal. :)

Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
Somebody else vote, my constituents! :p
-
Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
I've played four of the five, having only missed out on Hero of Time. They're all excellent. I actually liked JQ2 better than the original. LB is the first custom quest I ever played.
Having said all that, I voted for Molka. The overworld is so original and puzzling, it's like a level unto itself. Molka is a tremendous quest.

Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
According to my clock, voting ends in 38 minutes, and we've reached our (second) goal of 15! Hopefully in May we can get up to 20!
-
Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
Link's Birthday is the winner. *throws a party*
.......................Now what?
-
Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
Russadwan is writing a review of the game, planned to be posted on the 28th. Then on May's first Monday, nominations start again.
-
Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
Yay, we reached our second goal. Well, I am looking for level 2 of Link's Birthday, and desperatly hoping I can beat it and write a review in time.
-
Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
Well, I'm sure it would be acceptable if you made it through at least most of it. I'm not thinking we should give away any big spoilers or anything, if Link's Birthday has a big storyline at all.
-
Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
It doesn't look like it bosts a big storyline. Just another "Save Zelda from Ganon" type quests. It has a few details, but nothing that isn't explained in the database entry. And right now, I am only on level 2. Got to work faster...
-
Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
Sorry for the double post, but I need more time. Maybe we should have the reviews posted on the first Monday of the next month. I'm only on level 4, and I need another week.
-
Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
Post it whenever you can. I'll be sure to review it to make sure you didn't make any errors/so it doesn't suck/etc.
-
Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
Ya another day's fine. I suppose we could variate depending on the length of the quest.
-
Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
I think we should do this:
First Monday of the month: Post featured quest's review; open nominations for next months.
Second Monday: Post a poll with all the nominations.
Third Monday: Close the poll and start playing the quest/writing the review.

That sounds fine to me. That gives a good two weeks for playing. I definitely need to edit the rules now, but Pineconn hasn't opened it up yet. Or he just didn't see my post.
-
Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
Maybe we should have an AGN acount called "AGN EXPO", that you, me, Amaster, Joe, and Pineconn all have the password to, which also has administrative rights over the Expo. That way, we don't have to notify Pineconn about everything.
-
Re: Official April 2008 Gemstone voting thread
So... how's that review coming along?

Not so well. I 'm still just on level 4. However, I think I have a good enough feel of the quest to write a review on it.
