Damn all you people living in LA. I'm jealous.
I understand no one here shares my love for pretty boys. That makes me sad. D:

Oh, yeah. Yes, the weather is amazing. And I do love going to the beach every day during the summer. And there are a lot of beautiful people (I'm not one of them :p).
I guess after living here for 21 years, I take some of that for granted; plus I want a change of pace, after being here so long.
Traffic wouldn't affect me. I'm a walk/bike type of person.
lol, a 10 mile trip does not take two hours. I have had a 15 mile trip take 90 minutes though (of course, you don't drive at certain times unless you really have to...). Yeah, traffic sucks, and it's a big part of why I'll move.
Smog is not as bad as it was 30 years ago, in most parts of California it's not even noticable. CA has some of the strictist pollution standards in the country now.
I've never had any actual contact with crime. It depends on where you live and hang out, I guess. Some places are much worse than others (e.g. east LA, some specific neighborhoods...).
And yeah, the cost of living is a HUGE reason I'm moving out. It's just disgusting. Of course, salaries are higher to make up for that, but it doesn't even come close to capturing the full difference.
One last aside... whether your favorite actor, artist, etc. lives in LA or California is not the best reason for wanting to move there. Like I said, I've lived in LA my whole life, and I've never met a famous person. It's not like they are all my neighbors or something :p (In reality, they live in big, gated mansions that us poor folk aren't allowed near).

Bliss posted after me - humidity is way worse in the midwest and south! I never even knew what humidity really meant until I visited Kansas. Holy shit, am I glad that kind of stuff doesn't happen here.
I've never been to the midwest and south. :)
When I came to LA, the humidity really struck me because there was much less humidity where I used to live.
Thanks for the info.
