Ahh, but I own a 32 bit one, but my dad hasnt installed it yet. Awww...I want to play Rise Of Nations online, but my card is wayy to slow...Aww...But you are lucky.
Re: ***So, what's the highest color depth your video card supports?***
I've also got 32bits... but I'm on a mac.

*is curious as to why the question was asked*
the max with my computer (as far as I know) is 32-bit
Re: ***So, what's the highest color depth your video card supports?***
Im running a GeForce 6200 128mb video card...soo....128bit
Re: ***So, what's the highest color depth your video card supports?***
just because your videocard has 128mbs of VIDEO MEMORY dosent mean u can run 128BIT color. 128bit color would be awesome. i think your card does 32 bit.
Re: ***So, what's the highest color depth your video card supports?***
I know...128mb as it 'uses' 128mb, but supports 128mb color thingy, which i have.

Ok, for some reason I feel the need to explain how 24 and 32-Bit color works. Computers display colors based on 3 values Red, Blue, and Green. In 24-Bit color each of thes values is given 8-bits (For up to 256 levels of intencity) The colors mimic pure light, not die-- This means that adding more actually make the colors brighter, not darker. 32-Bit color uses the additional 8-bits to store the Alpha Channal data. 128-Bit Color would be somewhat pointless. The human eye has a hard enough time telling the differace between 0,128,255 and 0,127,255 zoomed in and close up.
Some paint programs feature a Cyan/Magenta/Yellow/Black option, it merely mimics the out put of a printer and is not a native display mode. The computer has to convert the Data to RGB color in order to display it. Games (or anything ment to be displayed on screen) should never use this images made in this color format. I don't know very much about the way it works, but since it mimics Dies the colors should get darker the higher the values are set.
Unless some one owns an extremly old PC you can bet they have 32-bit color. Its been the standard for 10+ years now. Not really grounds for Bragging anymore.
Some of the Professional cards feature more then 32-Bit color, used mostly for Print and Computer Animation industries, even then it is often overkill.

I have a notebook with a nvidia geforce 7400 go way overkill for zeldaclassic and it support up to 32 bit. It has 128 mb ram plus 128 turbocache memory.

this thread is finished... i reckon it should be locked IMHO.
