Probably the easiest way to do that is to open the other tileset, and move to a screen using that palette you want (if it's a level palette you are looking to grab) and then take a screenshot by pressing Z
then exit that tileset and open the one you want to put the palette in.
go to graphics>palettes>level palettes, and scroll down to an unused one.
open it and click on grab and then grab the 3rd, fourth, and fifth one down in the bmp that you grabbed, the top one starts with cset 0, and the second in 1, so you want csets 2, 3, and 4, which are the 3rd, 4th and 5th in line
confused enough now? ;)

Re: How do I set the start position of Link?
The triforce probably was painted on the screen using a cset other than 2, 3, or 4
Here's a page I put together a while back to help people understand a little about palettes, it's pretty basic and could be more in depth, but it should get you started.

Eh whats up with the jars? Thats what I get when I wack em? O_o

Re: How do I set the start position of Link?
I can't tell anything from your pic, all the tiles are used incorrectly so trying to guess which ones are left over from the pots would take a physic ;)
When you use a slashable combo you have to also set the undercombo, in Data>undercombo so that's probably your trouble.

Re: How do I set the start position of Link?
well when I got to the door... it brings up a brown screen..then I go up then it puts me in the other room? and I cant go back up.. and whats up with this?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...sandLocked.jpg
The door on the left is supposed to be a locked door. the door on the right is a shutter and the door on the bottom is a shutter. Why are the graphics being this way?
edit:I kinda fixed the graphics in the room but the doors..they arent shutters! they should be... what the hell? :_;

Re: How do I set the start position of Link?
Nevermind.. I looked at another quest apparently I don't NEED warp tiles.. -_-
edit:Ugh its still jacking up.. it will go to an odd screen.. maybe I should screenshot it..

Re: How do I set the start position of Link?

Re: How do I set the start position of Link?
I don't need all the screenshots, I understand what you're talking about.
That tileset isn't very well built, the combos are just thrown in there willy nilly making building a screen a real pain in the......
but anyway
ok.....
I fixed your warps as you used them, personally I seldom use them like that but....
I made your cave/item room screen, and passageway screens 80 and 81
I made you a few template screens for some of the rooms for your reference.
and I changed the name of this file to ZeldaTweaked.qst so it won't overwrite yours
you'll need to unzip it

make a really good quest for Elise to play, she gets irritable when she doesn't have a good quest on hand and then she locks me in my cave in an attempt to get me to build her one, that will be thanks enough. ;)

Re: How do I set the start position of Link?
Then it's probably what I said before, you've got some spyware lurking in there somewhere.

You have the Dmap set to Cave. You can't have locked and shutter doors in Cave Dmaps. However, I believe you can fix this by going to Data -> Screen Data. Click the Screen Flags 2 tab, then check Treat as Dungeon Room. This should fix it. Altogether, you should change it from Cave to Dungeon.

Is that so? It must be some 2.11 thing. Someone who has experience with 2.11 (unlike me--I shan't tinker with it until a final release!) can help you.
-
Re: How do I set the start position of Link?
oh well. i guess ill have to wait till the final release of 2.11 then ;) untill then you get the idea ^_~

Re: How do I set the start position of Link?
You have to use the doors tool for automatic doors and it has to be a dungeon dmap or screen flag treat as dungeon.
The rooms I made for you I painted the doors in, so if you copy paste them to use elsewhere you will need to add the doors through data>doors.
You also need to choose what doorset when that screen comes up before selecting the door to be used.
Doors work correctly in the 2.11b10b, so if there is a problem it's in your set-up
-
Re: How do I set the start position of Link?
With the second-to-last shot, you should fix how Link isn't going under the door. That combo must not be set to Overhead.
(BTW, thanks for posting the URL to the images instead of posting the image itself. )

Not a Problem :) and thanks ill do that! :)
-
Re: How do I set the start position of Link?
To get Link to walk inside the door instead of over it, find the door combo on the right side and right click on it, then choose overhead as it's combo type, do both the left and right tops
That's a pretty bad tileset, you should change to one that is properly set up before you have a bunch of work it your quest.
It would save you TONS of time at this point.

Re: How do I set the start position of Link?
Which kind of Pure is it? PTU is supposed to be more organized, but I'm using regular Pure and (I think) it's fine. Of course PTUX is supposed to be even better.
EDIT: I take that back. I remember how I had to fix much of the door combo sets and Link's movements with a magic or mirror shield. Oh, and Nayru's Love wasn't even set up. Some tiles were even a little off. :scared: How fun it was to fix. ;)
-
Re: How do I set the start position of Link?
Well the door goes over links head..but apparently he's too short for this ride..he needs to be atleast as tall as teh clown!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...erheadDoor.jpg
And he loves his boomerang
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...oomerang-1.jpg
The Tileset is
Puretiles-Release2
-
Re: How do I set the start position of Link?
Whichever one it is, it's a mess
your pic....
You just do the top of the door as overhead. ;)
You did the bottom portion
You need to change tilesets, you'll be 2 months going around fixing all of that stuff.
IF you want Pure, get Mr. Z's latest
-
Re: How do I set the start position of Link?
You might want to go with Pure Tileset Update. It's a little much better, but still not too complicated to use. If you want, go ahead and use Pure Tileset Update Extreme.
