One more thing to add (don't know if it will really matter to anyone) but there's a rumor going around that the New 3DS will NOT be region-locked. Take that as you will.

If this is true, that right there is a reason to get the system entirely.
Either way, I'm one of the people who are actually excited for this system, and it's come at a perfect time. I mean, there's a lot of 3DS games coming out in these new few months, and some of them are bound to be system sellers.
I mean, sure, it sucks for us who already have 3DS systems, but hey, it seems like there's actually more good points than bad points upon further inspection.
Yeah I heard the rumor about there not being region locking as well if thats true its a step in the right direction.

New 3DS is Region Locked well that ends that rumor right fast.
Damn, that could've been an amazing selling point. Oh well, we can't have everything, I guess.
Thinking about it Nintendo might be hurting their holiday sales a bit, I mean who in the right would buy a normal 3DS knowing that there is a newer model coming out in 2015.
I'm considering a purchase of it still (once it gets a US release anyway) for the XC port (that is too much of a pain to find a decent copy now-a-days and I'm not gonna risk modding my Wii to play a iso of said game). That said, I'm hoping that it gets some nice games for it after release (other than Wii ports, and maybe SNES VC)
If its announced late enough into next year I'll get me one reserved. I might go with an XL version of it. From what I read somewhere is that these version of the 3ds will be a bit cheaper then the original models. I'm hoping that its true.
