Re: The Legend of Zelda - A Key to the Heavens
You'll have a job trying it out, at the moment there are about 5 more screens than the ones in the first post...
I'm glad people like the look of it though :)
Perhaps I should start working on the first part rather than the desert, and then make a video or something.

Eramus' Sand Sea and Gateway.
The top two rows are the Gateway (well, and Oasis) area, and the bottom 15 screens are the sand sea.
The gateway screens aren't in the correct palette, they should be in a slightly different one, but I was too lazy to take two map shots and combine the pictures.
Re: The Legend of Zelda - A Key to the Heavens
This desert has certainly got a lot of plant life. But then, the "bare endless sand dunes" archetype only really applies to the large, famous deserts.
And, there's no reward for correctly guessing the entity in the Sky Palace, is there? (Suffice to say, it probably won't be Emperor Ing from MP2.)

Well, if you guess it, it will prove that I have been giving away too much information. :D Actually, you find out who he/she/it is at the end of level 1. But it's one of those things were you only get a part of the story each time, and you don't get the whole story until right before the final boss fight.

Yeah, nice as it would be to make it a bit more barren, it'd really ruin the screens.
They'd be far too boring to look at.

Heh, MP2 was such an awesome game.
No Ing in this one though I'm afraid.
If you can think of some kind of reward then you can have it for guessing
Re: The Legend of Zelda - A Key to the Heavens
Maybe a pre-release play through oppurtunity.
And what does MP2 stand for?
Re: The Legend of Zelda - A Key to the Heavens
Metroid Prime 2
And yeah, if that's something that you want them I'm sure that'd be fine
You know, we could even let you bugtest the first area for us =P
Re: The Legend of Zelda - A Key to the Heavens
hmm omg joe and russadawn...
omg...
this has to be the most amazing thing ive seen in zc... ever...
so... much... detail...
wow. i applaud you. this is amazing.
*cough* (test quest?) *cough*
actually... i think you guys should be actual game designers. if youre this good with something that has limits like ZQ then imagine what would come of using a big game engine? like the halo engine? i see great things in your future lol
nice one too if i didnt get my point across.
Re: The Legend of Zelda - A Key to the Heavens
First: Joe is the one doing the overworld, and thus the amazing details. Basically, this is what we are in charge of:
Joe123: Overworld, scripting.
Russadwan: Dungeons, storyline, planning.
Basically, Joe made the scripts that started this in the first place, I came up with some good ideas, then Joe used my ideas as a springboard to catipult this quest into one of the best looking works of ZC art avalible.

Well, it's not that big, so if we made a demo, it would be a big chunk of the game. But we might release a demo that goes to level one, and possibly includes level one. But there might not even be a demo anyways.

Y'know, that might be a bigger issue than you think. A quest should always afford to be unique, even down to the title.
But what other title can there be? Maybe "LoZ: A Key to Heaven's Gate?"
