Actually, I like XP a lot better than past versions of windows. It doesn't require a reboot as often, I've never seen a BSOD, and it's a lot better at networking, especially wireless.
As far as 'activation' is concerned, you can't blame Microsoft for not wanting people to steal their product (well, you can) but you can definately blame them for going after the wrong group. They should be targeting Pirates that mass-copy the software, and then sell it for cheap, and haxors who distribute it on Kazaa, not home users who wan't too install it on their computer and their laptop.

It is not that XP is not caompatible, it is other things that are not compatible.
Of course, I like XP. But I has FROZEN (yes, the actuall OS) on me 3 time in succsession whlie I was in the database of RM2K, I didn't have any other progs running at the time as well! No probs since though.
EDIT- Heee, heee, the Pro version of XP i have don't need activation codes!

I'm not saying that XP is bad, far from it. It is M$'s best effort yet, and with ME in dual boot, I can use DOS progs too.
But it is far from secure, I have a firewall, that logs almost everything that enters and exits my comp. And well, I have received 5 hack attempts from within Microsoft's domain, within the past 2 months. And it has frozen a few times for me, and Explorer has crashed once, and notepad has crashed 3 times.
But overall XP is a good system, as long as you use a third party firewall, seeing as the built in one is not all that good.

IE does crash from time to time, and when it does, it brings *all* it's open windows down with it.
