Dreamcast gaming
I recently bought a Dreamcast and I was wondering what are some good games for it. I've already bought Evolution and Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, and I'm planning to get Mortal Kombat Gold and Sega Smash Pack if I can ever find 'em. Also, what are some good snes/genesis emulators for the Dreamcast?

Re: Dreamcast gaming
Good? Well I guess they are "good". Last I checked don't expect 60fps with good sound from SNES and the best Genesis emulator is an illegal rip/hack of the sega smash pack which is decent but sound quality sucks. NES and such run much nicer. If you really want emulators on a console, grab an Xbox and mod it.

Re: Dreamcast gaming
the few good games i had were a nfl football game (probably madden 2k1 or 2k2), virtua tennis (yes, i said it), and shenmue.
though probably the only place you can get DC games is via torrent, ebay, or old pawn shops that carry that kind of stuff. EBG, only in the bigger city areas, might carry them.

Re: Dreamcast gaming
I'm not much for sports games, so that's out...
Luckily for me, there's a used game shop and an EBgames semi-close to me. I'll be on the lookout for Shenmue then. Maybe I'll get lucky and find what I'm looking for. *shrugs*

Re: Dreamcast gaming
Shenmue was boring.
Soul Calibur, Crazy Taxi 2, Ikaruga, Dead or Alive 2. That's all you'll need.

Re: Dreamcast gaming
They have Street Fighter Alpha 3(which also appears on other systems) and Phantasy Star Online 1st appeared on there (which btw, if you don't have the little code thingy, you can't even get to the options menu), but it also appears on toher systems and personally, I only have Shenmue (nice, but I've not played it for awhile) and Dead or Alive 2 (whiuch I play the most after SFA3). There's also Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 (both appear on the Cube with some remixed stuff or whatever :P ) I've wanted to try Record of Lodoss War, but can't find it. meh. :kawaii:

Re: Dreamcast gaming
Also Super Street Fighter 2X was a great one. Never came to USA (which would be called Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo). Unreal Tournament was available too. Can't go wrong with that. Marvel Vs Capcom 2. Capcom Vs. SNK. Powerstone 2. Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2. Air Force Delta. Mars Matrix. King of Fighters Evolution. Guilty Gear X. Street Fighter 3. All good games for DC not yet mentioned inthis topic. Ofcourse I highly recommend Ikaruga.

Re: Dreamcast gaming
There was an unreleased version of Half Life for DC called "Half Life Gold". It's a pretty solid port, control are a bit funky though. And the load times are near unbearable. You can probably find it floating around online somewhere.

Re: Dreamcast gaming
Is there anything that seperates Tony Hawk 2 from it's PC and PSX counterparts?
I just picked up a demo disk which had Sonic Adventure 1 and DoA2 on it, so I'm gonna look for those (and the fighters mentioned...) Didn't know that Ikaruga was released for the DC...
