The Legend of Zelda: Darklink
I haven't worked on Darklink for along time becasue of no full version of ZC. But I decided I should do some more work on it. Although most of the work so far has only really been graphical I have done other stuff as well, I still plan to wait until a full version is released though before I do more on stuff other than graphics.
The tiles are basically the classic tileset only I edited them abit and added a few of my own. Heres some screenshots:

This quest has been like 2 years in the making, I really gotta get this thing finished.
Re: The Legend of Zelda: Darklink
Ooh. Tell me you didn't make those annoying RED X's in your quest. :( Please try not to use Geocities. try http://www.filespace.org
Re: The Legend of Zelda: Darklink
Umm, youre not supposed to be using that icon. o.O
Hmm, guess its just a public icon.
Re: The Legend of Zelda: Darklink
wow, that titlescreen looks bizaare. especially Link, with that sadistic/insane/hungry look
the other shots look great, though, do you HAVE to use classic?
Re: The Legend of Zelda: Darklink
Well, he started it in Classic. I remember this quest. It's like, one of the first eight to have come out after the AGN DB went up.
Plus, thats modified enough not to be just called "Classic."
Re: The Legend of Zelda: Darklink
Hm... looks inteteresting.
That Link looks like Ed Gein a bit.
Re: The Legend of Zelda: Darklink
Good gosh, I remember downloading the demo for this quest years ago. Are you sure it's only 2 years in the making? It seems like it was longer.
Re: The Legend of Zelda: Darklink
I'm not really sure acctually....it was one of the first quests to be created....I made this before ZC was even released to the public because someone gave me a bootleg Beta. So it is possible it was prolly longer.
And Big Joe I had to use that Icon, it looks so cool and since I'm bring my quest back form the dead it suits it I think.
As for it being classic, I have modified it alot so theres only a few elements that are the original classic tiles, I haven't gotten around to changing all the pallettes so the colours are still classic colours. I still plan on only using 3 colours though. I want to stay true to the way the quest originally was, it was if not the first the one of the first to use a large amount of custom tiles while still looking like the original Zelda, which is what I wanted, I wanted it to resemble the original Zelda. I imagine it will look a hell of alot better once I change the pallettes. Eventually I plan on releasing a version in completely custom graphics which look nothing like the classic set and be entirely unique.
I have done tons of planning for this quest, almost as much as if I was making a complete game from scratch I have drawings of characters, all the maps drawn out on grid paper. I want to make this quest as fun as possible with great replay value. I want it too feel like a real Zelda game. I originally started off on this quest just fooling around learning the tools. But now I have to try my hardest to turn this quest around and make it worthy of the Zelda name.
Once I get the story out of my mind and onto paper I'll post it here.
Re: The Legend of Zelda: Darklink
Them look great. This quest sounds like it'll be cool. I hope to see some more shots or something soon.
Re: The Legend of Zelda: Darklink
Yeah, I still have an old unpass'd version of this I got off the AGN QDB eons ago...:D
Looked pretty interesting...nice to know it's gonna make a comeback.
*feels Mandrag's pain of un-quest-release-ness, having himself not released a single quest yet, not even his first one that's about 3 years old now*
Oh, and by the way, yer Ironknuckles've got the'r legs screwed on backerds in the "An Underwater Temple" pic. :p
