If my mother saw an intruder she would call 911 I think.

I’d grab one of my samurai swords. Even if the intruder has a gun, the sight of me lunging at him with a katana or wakizashi would probably be unexpected, so there’s the element of surprise for at least a couple of seconds. But those couple seconds are all I need.

I'd toss some Lego on the floor in front of him, then when he steps on it and is screaming in pain I'd knock him out, and lock him up in the basement with the others.

No, don't shoot him. Well, at least not in my state. I had a repo guy enter my house illegally and started walking around. I thought it was one of the girls until I came out of the bathroom. I smashed his nose with my first and threw him (yes physically threw him) off of the front porch. The cops came of course and arrested me.
I got out of it in court; offered to pay for his glasses I broke when I hit him and used the defense of PTSD and not to press charges on trespassing. Still, it was a hassle to go through.
