As most of us are probably aware, movie writers are running out of ideas as most new movies coming out are remakes or "reboots" of earlier movies. It seems that even TV shows are starting to follow this trend. So here is a thread to post what we think are some of the most unnecessary remakes or reboots, and ones that just totally sucked. We can also talk about TV to movie conversions or vice-versa.

About 90% of them are unnecessary really. Especially the Disney live action ones of late. They add some stuff that messes with the pacing of the original film and for what? To spread it to a new generation? I though that's what the constant releases of the animated originals every decade were for. Also some reboots/remakes change so much that the new story takes a giant disrespectful dump on the original. An example of this is the "reboot" of Reboot. Seriously I cant think of anything more horrendous to happen to the series.

The recent remake of Child's Play was totally unnecessary. Are the really going to try to milk that franchise some more? It wasn't that successful to begin with. And Chucky looks like the villain from a Lifetime movie.

It's the same with today's pop music. It's nothing but remakes of old songs. There is no originality anymore.
