I didn't use cheats once in this quest, the timer was working, and it says I did afterwards, what the hell?

This is not good if I'm trying to set up tracks for SR.com

it's possible to enabled cheats via a script you know. So yeah that can happen and may not be a bug, but never the less. We shall investigate it, James.

Please post the quest file somewhere, or link to it; and tell me what version of ZC you used, and how you saw that you had cheats enabled at any point.

I talked to Nightmare about it in chat earlier. Very strange.

Nightmare: Were cheats enabled at some point earlier in the save file before you (re)started the run?

I did a cursory test, with a clean quest file and I could not replicate it.

I did not think to load a quest enable cheats, exit, and load a separate quest in that slot.

The quest in question.

I tested this theory, as follows:

I loaded a quest, enabled cheats Lv 4, and turned on hitboxes; then F6->Retry, and I loaded a quick demo quest with a Zelda flag on the first screen. This did not replicate the problem - video below - and I will next check if setting it by script with Game->Cheat = 4. has a different effect. e.g. If the scripted cheat level is not clearing on Init.

The only thing I can really note is that I did hit "Retry" on the first failed attempt, but that still shouldn't trigger that.

IDK what to say.

I have now tried it by enabling cheats in the UI, and by script, and loading a second quest file into the slot.

I can not replicate this with another quest, and I suspect that demo1st.qst is setting a cheat flag by script, but the quest buffer is merely a list of imports and I have no way to determine without dumping the ZASM table.

Gleeok: Do you have any type of ZASM inspector to dump the buffers to a text file?
Nightmare: You did not specify the precise version of Zelda Classic that you are used when this happened. This is very important.

I performed a ZASM dump of the quest. I did not find any instance of the CHEAT instruction, so I do not know what happened, and I have not been able to reproduce it.

In what ZC version was this quest last opened, compiled, and saved?
