Big-ass spider of some kind in my backyard.

It had a web strung right across my back door. Does anybody know what kind it is? Sorry the camera work isn't too good. I was more worried about not getting bitten.

to be more correct it's a female orb weaver who is about to lay eggs, you might want to kill it.

I'm gonna let it live. That way I can have fresh eggs for breakfast.

Just be careful, that species is quite overprotective of it's eggs.
