I heard about this game and its story a while ago, but I seriously doubted it was true.

I can't believe it. Even the guy who made the game even thought the story was a load of bunk - as I recall, his argument was they would've just re-purposed the cartridges for another game, no need to throw the alien out with the bathwater, so to speak. Whelp, guess that's what I get for being a nonbeliever.
