I'm up to Level 6. Seems like that darn Gleeok guarding the whistle is the hardest part so far. Can I get the letter or Magic Sword yet?

Played both previous James Quests so I knew what to look for...for the most part. "Okay, this seems to be the same...this seems to be the same...NOT THE SAME! NOT THE SAME! :odd:

Now to go Lens-scanning for the bonus dungeon...yay?

Up to level 7, can't find the darn ladder or anything in Level 6 except the triforce found ladder

In mini dungeon #5, I exit the dungeon, die, select continue, continue from start of dungeon

The Ladder is Level 7's item.

Is there a bug or something?

I'm not sure, but I think there might be. You shouldn't be able to continue from inside a mini dungeon when you exit the dungeon

Nightmare

So you're saying it continues there actually instead of on the first screen?

Bonus dungeon search: Scanned a good bit of both overworlds with the lens as well as a few of the dungeons(I played James 2 and Unofficial Third :))...nothing yet beyond a money room and a hint room I had missed the first time around.

correct if you entered mini dungeon 5 exited, died on the overworld, you'd continue from the first screen in mini dungeon 5. however if you saved and came back later you continued from the start.

also this sucked

got a clock and the pols voice was trapped where I couldn't hurt him/her.

Update: Found...another hint room I previously missed. -_-

I CAN see the bonus dungeon entrance with the lens, right?...

Figured out Level #9, but died at that white gleeok. Thought I could beat him just stabbing quick, but after two potions got to find another stragety

I actually made Nightmare drop the HP of that boss drastically. The original amount was an absurd 600 or 1000 or whatever. I had to validate parking for that boss. :P

It originally had 500 HP. Now it's somewhere in the 300's.

I did it, now onto finding the bonus dungeon.

Is this bonus dungeon like Level 11 in the new quest for impossible?

Nightmare

No, it's not impossible. The challenge this time takes off of Skyward Sword, the "Hero" Dungeon. Essentially, you get no life restored the entire way.

FOUND IT! Took forever searching all over the place but I found it!

Sadly, didn't clear it on the first try...didn't die, just ran out of bombs at a rather crucial spot. :banghead:

I'm still looking for it, just stocking up money so I can use my lens a lot. I don't think it's in the 2nd smaller overworld

Holy fudge, this is a long-ass dungeon.

I thought I found it. But after seeing how easy and short it was, it can't be it

Have made it as far as floor seven(!). Found three new items. Woo.

Just wanted to say that I love playing the James quests nightmare. I played this and enjoyed James quest all over again. I like a good challenge and even though James quests don't really challenge me anymore, I still my younger days when I was so frustrated at dying too many times - but its all fun. One criticism I can make is that there are secrets which potentially block a player's progress. In my view, these are very bad things because a lot of time might have to be spent searching for a particular item or passageway. For instance, burning a particular tree to get the sword.

By the way, have you played Liberation of Hyrule yet? Its written for challenge quest players - we know our culture - and trust me, if you enjoy challenges you'll enjoy this one. Gleeok says its the most difficult quest on the database.

Really enjoying this quest, though it is rather hard. I have a newfound appreciation for the candle! :D I love the sense of humor, and enjoy the fact that this is a "trollface" quest but isn't entirely frustrating!

Thanks for the warm comments James24 and ekolis.

Having kind of a bad few days here, so I'll reply more when I'm not so upset and seething at school projects.

Liberation of Hyrule: I got too much of a laundry list of games right now. Still recovering from the first around of 5th testing, some of it was brutal.

Well, OK, "not entirely frustrating" isn't COMPLETELY true... I did get stuck on the second dungeon, as I couldn't find a key. I eventually found the third dungeon and used a key from there, but I'll probably get stuck later on in the third dungeon since I don't have that key! :P
