So Capcom has basically all but abandoned Mega Man it seems. Keiji Inafune has went on and started his own company, and is working on the spiritual successor right now called Mighty No. 9. Personally, i'm excited by the prospect of a proper new Mega Man-ish game and not the complete lackluster drivel Rockman xOver was.

Here's the page for the Kickstarter. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mightyno9/mighty-no-9?ref=home_popular

I really hope this independent development model with consumer input takes off more in the major game development scene. Hopefully it'll lead to more quality games worth tossing money at and not cheap cash grabs.

Didn't we already have a post about this? Maybe I am just seeing it everywhere.

I'm still in shock they reached their goal on day one. Then their first stretch goal like two days later. This has all the makings of a fantastic game/series.

At first I was really angry at seeing we are going through with this, but now I'm glad that it's happening.
I've been pretty much more or less disappointed with most titles I've checked out lately, and Mighty No. looks like it's probably got the most potential for what I'm going to like to see in a game.
The patching on the newer consoles is going to pretty much take the little "Megaman" "Get" thing to the level of this guy being able to do just about anything effectually if it's done right, and that's what I like about this production.
Good luck to all you backers and other people involved in this game's creation, I believe it could end up being the best game of all time with so many people involved in it's development.

Anyone else as excited for this as I am?

For those not in the know, it's essentially Keiji Inafune's (One of the fathers of Mega Man) attempt at reviving the series with his new company. It's a spiritual successor to Mega Man. It looks promising so far. :megaman:

I can't wait to see some actual in-game screens, and not concept art. Other than that, this looks pretty awesome so far.

I merged your thread with the existing thread since they actually had the same exact title.
