This is a very interesting find (to me, at least): it shows some of what the developers were thinking/doing making Zelda.

It is an interesting play, for sure. I tried to hack it and fiddle with the second quest, but couldn't figure out the hex offsets. I kinda suck at hex editing. >.>

They should just release the old assembly code and tools at this point. There's no way LOZ1 is still profitable. :\

That's my 2 cents worth of corporation hate.

As long as they're selling it on the virtual console, I don't expect them to ever release free versions =\
