ZC on Mac won't get started

Hi everyone. I downloaded ZC on my Mac which runs Mac OS X 10.6.8. It opens, then asks me if I want to create a new file from scratch, I click OK. It then takes me to the Armageddon Games/flames screen and doesn't go any further. Any Suggestions?

Is it not responding to any input at all? Does the mouse or ESC open the menu?

So, it crashes and sends you back to the desktop, or it's just stuck on the flames screen?

I can open the menu, but there's nothing there. It doesn't respond when I try to close it though. I have to force close it.
