I want to upload New Quest 2012 (a.k.a. the 2.50 version), but it says it requires host space to do it, and I have none of that. It's up on Pure, but I want to update it to AGN's QDB. Can anyone give me a hand?

Open a free Dropbox account. Upload your quest file, and then follow this guide (see "Force a file or folder to download") to make a direct-download link: https://www.dropbox.com/help/201/en

Or you can just put the file in the public folder and then right-click it to make a direct download link? O.o

...about quests you've uploaded this way.

Well I have yet to actually finish a quest, let alone upload one, but

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10691609/Title_Screen_2.png

See that? The same can be done with a .qst file.

So there's basically no version where you win this one unless I am misunderstanding. What I understand is "Put a file on dropbox, then get a direct download link of the file to use for something else"

Oh, haha thank you. I thought you were talking about your Public folder on Windows. Willy Wonka is satisfied, nothing to see here move along!

Wait isn't the database on lock down? I swear you can't upload anything anymore.

No. The database has been opened. It was announced on zc.com. I meant to make an announcement on the forums but Shadowblazer forbade it. Okay I forgot... which is also Shadowblazer's doing.

For Nightmare and anyone else who reads this, I just uploaded a quest to the QDB using Dropbox. It required a work-around on my part, so I want to describe the process I used in detail.

1) Open a Dropbox account. Login to it, you'll be on the Home page where you can see your files.

2) Use the Upload icon to upload your quest file. It should be in either .qst format or zipped in .zip format.

3) Click on your quest's filename, and then click the Share button on the popup that appears.

4) A new window will appear. Copy down the URL in this new window. An example of what your URL should look like: https://www.dropbox.com/s/w5pokm6cav07emn/Glenn_4th.qst

5) Add "?dl=1" to the end of the URL. This will signal to the Dropbox web server that you want your file to download directly, with no landing page. This is a requirement of the QDB quest upload page.

6) If your file was uploaded in .qst format, additionally add "&e=.qst" to the end of the URL. If your file was uploaded in .zip format, add "&e=.zip" to the end of the URL. This is a workaround that is required because the QDB validates URLs to make sure that they end in ".qst" or ".zip"

Your final URL (which you'll submit to the quest upload page) should thus resemble: https://www.dropbox.com/s/w5pokm6cav07emn/Glenn_4th.qst?dl=1&e=.qst
