So I was going through some of my old NES instruction manuals and found a comic book from when I was a kid.

Then I remembered, I have two other really cool Nintendo comics.

Ah the classic NP comics! I know I have the full Zelda one somewhere. Probably in one of my several bins full of crap I have in the basement. Hopefully it's there. There is a chance it was still at my parents house and I think they threw out a ton of my old crap when they moved 13 years ago. I remember reading most of the Mario one too when a friend of mine had a NP subscription. I think I got mine after both comics made their run. Remember they did a Metroid one too. I think it was a shorter run than the previous two, but I remember that being the primary comic they were running when I started to get NP myself.

I remember shopping some of the comics by Valiant based on the first two Zeldas. I still have some of the images for them online for teh lulz. not terribly safe-for-work.

I've still got my copy of the Mario Adventures comic, while my younger brother DO has the Legend of Zelda LttP comic. Both still in great condition and a good read to this day. I think I still have some of the Valiant Mario/Zelda comics. If not, I remember encoutnereing them in a dollar store back in the late 90s and they were pretty good buys.

I'm pretty positive they probably aren't moving at the prices listed. I couldn't imagine that they are. I may try to sell them anyway.

I used to have the old Valiant Zelda comic books, but I read the hell out of them and they were completely trashed. Even if I could find them, they wouldn't be worth anything anymore. I still have the map insert, and it's all yellowed and torn. It actually looks like an old map, so I'm gonna frame it.

I was lucky to get a copy of the bound LTTP comic book like the original poster listed. I got it on eBay many years after it was first released. I don't know why I didn't buy it when it first came out - maybe because I had all the NP issues with the comics, and I thought I'd never part with them, but I eventually did. My LTTP comic is dog-eared on one corner, but I don't care.

I also have several of the Mario and Captain N comics by Valiant, but my favorite are the Zelda comics, which I have the entire set of. Plus I have the two big bound Nintendo Comic System Valiant comics that had many comics in them (they did a few Metroid and Punch Out strips in there). The Zelda comics go along with the cartoon so well, which I was also a big fan of. I only wish they made more of them.

I had issue 3 of both the Captain N and Legend of Zelda comics by Valiant, both of which contained two main stories.

For Captain N, part 1 was about how Mother brain accidentally got infected with some viral substance intended for everyone else, so now everyone has to work together to save both sides. Part 2 was about Captain N and his dog getting their brains switched (that was pretty funny actually). As for Zelda, part 1 was about Link invading Level 9 and finding the Triforce of Power, but it turns him insane and he gains a bloodlust for Ganon (I'm not kidding.) in part 2, Zelda figures out why it's turning Link evil and tries to save him.

That Zelda comic you're talking about was bad ass. I had it growing up, but it's long gone. I thought the comics were way better at telling a story than the cartoon was.

It definitely was, but they shared so much that it's easy to just see the comic as a print version of the cartoon to a lot of people. That is a shame.
