tl;dr go to *
We are apart of a Fan Game development site. To my surprise a lot of people don't know this. They think AGN only exists because of Zelda Classic. I guess for many years it did after all of AGN's other projects fell off or moved away. Now that AGN is coming back to life I have heard a lot of talk in the realm of, "Why not just become ZeldaClassic.com?" or "Why not merge with PureZC?" The reason we don't do these things is because AGN is about more that ZC. We now have to other projects under our name, both of which I must say look tasty, and Zelda Classic finally has a stable 2.5! Still we are not growing. I believe it is because AGN, not just ZC, needs some new excitement and life.
I personally would love to see some Indie Games on AGN, by that I only mean games that don't use someone else's IP. Don't get me wrong I love fangames. Indie Games are on the rise while fan games are coming down in popularity. Indie Games also, IMHO, have a broader future over fangames. Not that I am saying not to post about your ideas for fan games. Feel Free!. I just would love to see some truly original ideas besides Metroid Classic and Open Sonic.
*In that vein I am starting a thread for you to talk about what game project you would start if you had the resources(time, know-how, etc) and put in your thoughts about others ideas. You might never be able to make it but if it's a great idea it might take off in someone else's hands.
Now here are my totally unoriginal ideas.
I am a SNES freak. It's the console I grew up on. Back in the 90's when the Internet was only used for porn and chat I found my games at a local pawn shop with nothing to go on but the cartridge sticker. Thankfully in that primitive and harsh world I found two amazing games, Act Raiser and Tetris Attack.
Idea #1: [Indie Game] Spiritual Sequel to Act Raiser
> I loved Act Raiser and years later when I found out there was an Act Raiser 2 I was very disappointed. The company did not(or could not) provide us with a true sequel to the game and instead 86ed a whole half of the game and to this day Act Raiser stands alone. For years I have wanted to make not a true sequel but a spiritual sequel or remake to Act Raiser. If I had the know how I would start today.
I would try to make the Simulation part of the game more dynamic and involved and make warding off monsters more than using a ugly cherub that shoots funny sounding arrows. I would also like to expand the action part of the game. Wall jumping, weapon variety, etc possibly even straying from being a platformer. I would love to make the whole game 3D and change the action portion to somewhere between Zelda and Devil May Cry. That is probably way too ambitious though.
Idea #2: [Indie Game] Panel De Pon on Android
> Though I'd probably get sued by Nintendo I would love to make a Tetris Attack/Puzzle League like game for Android. I don't have any ideas to improve the core gameplay(which is why I'd probably get sued). I think this would be a great game on a touch screen mobile device. Simply touching a tile and sliding to the right to switch with the tile to the right and vice versa. It would be awesome to be able to play with a partner on another device no matter where they are.
