Deflection: Stop the Event above you

This is a new thread for The Oldest Game (http://armageddongames.net/showthread.php?68072-The-Oldest-Game). The rules are the same as the old version.

Each poster must attempt to defeat or delay the event of the previous post.

1st Poster
I am the cupcake on the kitchen counter.

2nd Poster
I am the slippery knife that ruins the cupcake on the kitchen counter.

3rd Poster
I am the flex-o-grip handle that prevents the slippery knife from falling out of the baker's grip.

4th Poster
I am the corporate cutbacks that force the manufacturers to use cheaper materials, sabotaging the flex-o-grip handle.

5th Poster
I am the teenager that accuses her father the CEO of profiteering, thus preventing the corporate cutbacks.

6th Poster
I am the cupcake that placates the teenager so that she does not pick a fight.



And so on like that.
Here's one to start with:

I am the fire that burns at the center of camp.

I am Jason Forhees carrying a pale of water.

I am the hole in the pail of water, keeping the water from being carried.

[CJC]

Well... I killed this game pretty quickly. God, I'm like the grim reaper of conversations.

Anyway...


I am the cork that keeps the water from escaping the pail.

I am the rust that disintegrates the pail.

Meh, this line of thought isn't working out... let's start over.



I am the ice on the concrete, that makes driving dangerous.



...Actually, my first statement was pretty profound.

I am the grim reaper of conversations that kills Jason Voorhees.
