Caught on camera during a wild fire currently burning in southern California.
Apparently they are rarely caught on camera.
Pretty cool to watch, as long as it's not from your front porch.

I'm in California and there's like 15 or so fires still burning. I was out of town to the east bay and northern CA last week and the air quality sucks pretty much everywhere I went. This shit happens about every other year here.

Anyway, I'll see your fire tornado and raise you this, which is how wars would be fought if scientists invented magic. :P

Yeah, this summer's been pretty bad. When it's 100 degrees and the air's full of smoke, it kinda kills your summer vacation. I've been staying inside a lot.
Also, glad I don't live near a volcano. Yikes! :surprised:

That's a dirty thunderstorm, where lightning is produced in a volcanic ash cloud. That particular photo is from Chaitén, in Chile.

Also sometimes referred to as volcanic lightning, it's pretty rare, but equally awesome if you are far enough away from it. Here's a couple more from Mt. Shinmoedake:

Not to turn this into a thread about Final Fantasy, but I really did like how well-developed the Four Fiends were in that game. There's actually some obscure backstory somewhere, I forget where, that explains how they were all humans once and that Valvalis and Rubicant weren't really that bad of people.

This is a games forum, so I think that's perfectly acceptable.
Besides, it's exactly what the Glare spell is, a fire tornado.
There's a lot about FF4 that made it a really good RPG.
