new user can't get save to work

I have ZC on a sony laptop with vista. the game works great but wont save. I have a jostick set up but the keyboard still works too. I have tried reset but as soon as I leave the program I have to start over each time. Help!!

Try pressing F6.

I tried f6 but no change. my zc.sav file is 173 KB and doesn't seem to change. There is no evidence of my typed in names when I look at it with wordpad. When I reset it is OK but as soon as I leave the program it saves nothing.

Try deleting that save file before you start ZC.

HI: I tried deleting the sav file but it still will not save. The initial screen to input names of players is faint and not well drawn and takes pressing enter twice to allow input. I think the problem is with this screen maybe....

Do you have ZC installed to C:\Program Files? If so, try copying the folder to somewhere in your documents folder and running it from there.

I tried running it out of the documents folder and it behaved exactly the same - still no save. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

OK - I downloaded build 1401 for windows and installed the unzipped files in the program Files directory where my game is and ran it. I got a funny screen with nothing on it. I hit enter again and got the Armageddon screen and everything works great and saves just like it should. Thanks all for your help!!
