I posted about H&H (http://armageddongames.net/showthread.php?46512-Haven-and-Hearth-MMORPG) in VGD weeks past and have been really enjoying it since. Tonight is a bit of a downer, though. All my hard work of the past couple of months is gone. A new world is being generated!
Haven & Hearth is a java MMO, sort of an Eastern European fantasy sandbox with perma-death. The game is still in alpha, hence the short span of the previous world, but it is also free. Graphics are 2D and nuances like pathfinding are non-existent, though considering it's made by two guys who have day jobs, rather impressive. The terraforming aspect is something I've not seen before in other games.
A new world is a good time to start playing. The system for gaining skill has been revamped for this world, 'tis an alpha after all, so even the vet's of past world will be learning to do things for the first time.
If you are sensitive about your game playing, stay away. Death is easy and griefing happens.
