As you know, Zelda Classic understands the following enhanced music file formats: OGG, MP3, IT, XM, S3M, MOD, SPC, GYM, NSF, GBS, and VGM.
Unfortunately, there are some files of these extensions that are simply not supported in ZC. What was the reason for this again? I know for certain there was a bug report thread about this problem, and Dark Nation explained why some files of these extensions aren't working in ZC. Unfortunately, that thread was seemingly lost for good due to that damn hacker who deleted all of our posts and threads.
(I still can't get over the fact that so many threads were lost forever due to that damn hacker:mad:)

I think the gist of it is that ZC uses various third-party libraries to play that music (alogg for OGG, almp3 for MP3, aldumb for IT, XM, S3M, MOD, Game_music_emu for SPC, GYM, NSF, GBS, VGM) so bugs in those libraries are sort of out of our hands. But it might be more complex than that.
