Any font makers?

I'm looking for some kind of program that let's you make fonts. Specifically, the scanned in handwriting of myself and my fiancee. She really wants a font of her own handwriting, and if I'm going to do that, I want one of my own.

I apparently have FontForge installed here on Ubuntu 10.04, but I honestly can't find any documentation on it. I've only found out discussions on what different types of fonts are, how they're used, etc, nothing actually about the program.

I just want to really copy and paste from the scanned jpeg and slap it in. Help?

I thought someone posted something along these lines a couple months ago. I can't be sure, and I can't find it. I'll keep my eyes peeled for it, though. I know I've seen a program that does this recently.
