Hi,
I want to place an item (a key) under a rock, so the player must bomb the rock to reveal the key (instead of stairs). I've tried the Bomb flag with Room Type as Special Item but the key is never revealed, I see that the rock gone but there's nothing under it.
Is it possible to reveal an item with bomb ?

Not without scripting it isn't. Try requesting a script that allow this behavior.
But rest assured, when construction the combo type editor begins in 2.6, it will be possible to make a combo that changes to the screen's under combo, one of the secret combos assigned to the secret combo 16-31 flags, or the next combo on the list just by bombing it. I mean, we have combos that change to such when struck with the sword and of course, the pound type which changes to the next combo when struck with the hammer.

Yeah you can, put the rock on an overhead layer (so probably 3), and put the key underneath so you can't see it. Then put the bomb flag on the ground underneath, and secret flag 16 on the rock on the layer.

But won't link pass underneath the rock?!

Not on a lower layer.

But in a lower layer the item wouldn't be hide.

How about rocks that are on BOTH layers 3 and 0, all with bomb flags. This sort of thing is done on my Platinum Quest where I hid rupees in a cattle skeleton and you get it after superbombing it. Oh yeah, and something else, don't switch flags on layers when you are viewing the ground screen - that will crash ZQ, do that on the layer screen instead.
