I'm looking for some new online diversions. Where do you guys go online when you're looking to kill some time?

Start from the beginning, make your way through to the end, and then stop. (http://www.darthsanddroids.net/episodes/0001.html)

I've also been going through the Let's Play Archive (http://www.letsplayarchive.com/), mostly so I don't have to actually PLAY the Resident Evil series. The screenshot ones are the best - they could almost pass for webcomics, if you're in the right mindset. If you only try one though, I implore you to read the Chrono Trigger one - it's a work of art.

Oh yeah, I absolutely must recommend my favorite webcomic ever, AXE COP! (http://www.axecop.com/)

I'm sure you're already hip to XKCD (http://xkcd.com/) and Perry Bible Fellowship (http://pbfcomics.com/).

It's not a comic, but start reading TV Tropes (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HomePage) and the next thing you know it's tomorrow.

These are in a bookmark folder that I always load immediately when I get home:

PvP (http://www.pvponline.com/)
Penny Arcade (http://www.penny-arcade.com/)
VG Cats (http://www.vgcats.com/) though I don't know why; it updates *maybe* once a month?
Nuklear Power (http://www.nuklearpower.com/), home of 8-bit theater (which just wrapped up *sniff*) and "How I Killed Your Master".
Starslip (http://www.starslip.com/) is pretty OK
Dinosaur Comics (http://www.qwantz.com/index.php)
Achewood (http://www.achewood.com/index.php)

Since you asked for wastes of time in general, I'll list some non-comic ones. By "some" I mean "the only thing I really use the internet for once I get home". Kingdom of Loathing (http://www.kingdomofloathing.com) is a browser-based RPG with a great sense of humor.

Sinfest (http://www.sinfest.net/)
featuring Talking Guinea Pigs/Cagin' It (http://joegp.com/)
Medium Large (http://mediumlarge.wordpress.com/)
How to Make a Sprite Comic in 8 Easy Bits (http://www.8easybits.net/), though updates are a bit slow at the moment.
Pictures for Sad Children (http://picturesforsadchildren.com/) isn't for everyone, but I like it.

As for non-webcomics:
Cake Wrecks (http://cakewrecks.blogspot.com/)
The "Blog" of "Unnecessary" Quotation Marks (http://www.unnecessaryquotes.com/)
The Comics Curmudgeon (http://joshreads.com/)
The Daily WTF (http://thedailywtf.com/)

One of my favorites is Sluggy Freelance (http://www.sluggy.com). Because of its many intertwining threads, some consider it to be a soap opera in terms of webcomics. You should really start at the beginning (http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/970826).

Not webcomics, but still wastes of time:
Clientcopia (http://www.clientcopia.com)
FailBlog (http://failblog.org/)
NotAlwaysRight (http://notalwaysright.com)
The Oatmeal (http://theoatmeal.com)

I stopped reading Sluggy when they stopped having Bert in it :< And then every time I think "Okay maybe I'll start reading again" I fuss with myself over whether I should start from the front or pick a random chapter, and whatever I do, I'm unsatisfied because I know I'll never read it all.

As I am an undergraduate on the way to grad school, and I know several grad students and their trials and tribulations, I really enjoy http://www.phdcomics.com/

For some reason, I can't read that without also reading Something Positive (http://www.somethingpositive.net/). No idea why.
