Use an item that consumes magic then collect a green magic vial to replenish your supply. while it is refilling your health the game lags.

It's like the game pauses each time the magic meter is incremented positively. Large magic jars increment the magic meter a large number of times for instance.

I started with no magic and collected a magic jar with Increase Amount 512 and noticed no change in speed. Test quest?

Well my video does show that it occurs... I don't run background process or anything like that while playing.

In addition, the game slows down when Link possesses the L4 Magic Ring (Light Force).

If you pay attention to the video, you'll notice the Lens of Truth also lags the game.

1266: I still get 57~ average fps on legacy quests made in 2.10 and earlier including quests upgraded from 2.10 or earlier. I made a fresh basic quest in 1266 and it stayed at 60fps.

Fade in and Fade out effects heavily reduce the frame rate (the counter reached 45~ but would probably have updated with a lower value if the effect stayed in place long enough), like fading in of the AGN logo and fading out of the Title Screen demonstrate this (before it shows the story/items).

Character select screen halves the frame rate to a constant 30fps.
