So I've managed to get through level 1, get an extra heart container, stepladder and also find the letter and magic boomerang. Now I cant seem to find anything else. Candle? White sword? Power bracelet? Blue ring? Another level!? Anything!? Any help would be greatly appreciated

As for half of the items you are asking about, they are very easy to find if you actually play the quest. blue candle replaces the magic powder. White sword is a gift for clearing Kanalet Castle.Blue Ring in Yarna Desert.
Power Bracelet I shouldn't have to tell you, if (once again) you referred to the actual game.
